Hi,

Newbie here, trying to build tahoe on OpenBSD 4.6 amd64 and running into
trouble. I read from install.html that the install procedure had been
verified to work on OpenBSD, so I thought this was worth reporting.

I run into trouble when the setup script grabs pycryptopp-0.5.17 and tries
to build it, failing thusly:

/usr/bin/ld:
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/amd64-unknown-openbsd4.6/3.3.5/libgcc.a(unwind-dw2.o):
relocation R_X86_64_32S can not be used when making a shared object;
recompile with -fPIC
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/amd64-unknown-openbsd4.6/3.3.5/libgcc.a: could not read
symbols: Bad value
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
error: Setup script exited with error: command 'c++' failed with exit
status 1

Looks like it destroys the temporary build area too, which is not very
debug-friendly. :( To verify what was happening, I had to separately
download and try to build pycryptopp. The error reproduced.

Can someone help me out with this? I was hoping to use tahoe for my
backups. And a little curiosity here -- is the commercial side of tahoe
(allmydata.com) available to people on obscure operating systems like me?
